IN USING THIS DICTIONARY... first things first, I did not go and type this all up by myself. are you kidding? no, this came from the /school gaelic dictionary/, which was prepared for the use of learners of the scots gaelic language by malcolm macfarlane, a man who is very much dead and who I am very much in debt to. bow down and worship him! jk, bust seriously, the man did wonders. and as this was published in 1912, it's considerably more accurate for our times than some other dictionaries that you might find -- the language has evolved over the years, as languages will. this will by no means teach you to pronounce the words, though it can help you understand how the language comes to together and get you started on the right road.
now, you may be wondering why the heck I brought this all over here, rather than just leave the site as an outsourcing opportunity. well... if you want to run the risk that the site would shut down, or even just take the time to wade through fourteen pages of stuff, go ahead. I just thought that this would be easier... and speaking of easier, the gealic alphabet only has () letters - how neat it that! && I've taken the liberty to link each letter to each corresponding post ^_^
and before you go screaming your heads off about me infringing copyrights, listen up: this is out of copyright. published in 1912 mean anything to you? good; and I gave due credit. malcolm macfarlane is god! he gave us this wonderful wonderful dictionary! now all we need is a genuine bona fide gaelic speaker to come along and tell us how to say everything... *grin*
