All questions below have either been asked (frequently or otherwise ) or it’s anticipated that they will be asked. For organizational purposes, they fall into subcategories.
Accounts Why do I have to have one account per character? Why can't I just have all my characters in one account? This is because it's one of the forum rules. In our experiances, it's been a lot neater and a lot easier to do single character accounts rather than jumble five or six characters onto one account. How are we supposed to know how many role play posts you've done for which character, or for which character you posted with? This way, us humble staff have an easier time of it all, and so do your fellow members.
Forums
Characters My character has relatives that I’d really like to see played. Is this possible? It is, actually. Click here for more information. Can my character be half elf and be able to control the elemehnt of fire? Good gracious no! This is a realistic historical role play, which means that we want to adhere to the natural laws of things. And thus far, in our real world, I'm quite possitive that neither elf nor elemental manipulation have been encountered. If you're dead set on that, I can point you out to a rather nice Scottish role play that does allow that sort of thing: swords of speriling
Do I have to play a canon/Do you have a preference between canons and originals? Canon's are 100% optional, and whether you opt for one or for an original, I have no preference. If you do opt to use a forum creation, rather than your own original one, however, I ask that you first look over any bolded characters or canons requested by members to see if any of them strike your fancy before looking over the others available.
Images What sorts of images can I use for my character? You may use any human images that fit your character's appearance, granted that the person is a celebrity of some sort (a recognizable face) and has not been previously claimed. As long as it's open, it's yours. However, please note that you may use only real humans: no animations, no drawings, nothing like that. Real people images only. If you're having trouble finding images to use, ask myself or one of the other staff members for help.
Posting There's a certain person I want to reply to my post. How do I make sure that no one else does? Typically, people will insert the names of those for the thread after the thread title. If you don't want anyone to reply to your thread (as is sometimes the case), simply label it as Closed. If there are specific people you want to reply (making sure they're willing to do so, of course), simply list their name(s). This is generally called the Tag System, as some people will put tag: before the list list of those for whom the thread is intended.
Additional Is this based on anything? It is, in fact! The country, lands, and clans are based off of real places and real people, and most of this is non-fictional -- all of which you really ought to look up yourself and learn all about. Now, that being said, doing your own research is by no means a requirement of joining here. While it helps, the vast majority of questions can be answered simply be reading provided documentation, and our members are more than willing to answer additional questions you might have.
What does "FAQs' stand for? It stands for 'Frequently Asked Questions.' Which means that we were asked these often enough that we decided that rather than repeat ourselves over and over again, we'd let you read it for yourself!
